Nurturing creativity and imagination in young children
ART-enriching activities such as painting, drawing and handmade crafts can stimulate the minds of young children. Whatever the children are exposed to and encounter during their first year of life can significantly enhance the development of their creative ability, as their minds are likely to absorb what they see and feel in their surroundings with ease.
“Different people have different creative strengths. Real creativity comes from finding your medium, from being in your element,” says Da Vinci Creative Kids general manager, Tan Chin Wee.

Research shows that art can help children develop literacy skills and encourage divergent thinking and problem-solving skills. Well-designed art programmes lead to overall academic performance, build skills necessary for school activities and have a positive influence on the lives of children.
Today, parents and education authorities are identifying, growing and heightening right-brain thinking, which governs creativity and emotion. During drawings, children can now apply their inventiveness confidently with their unique mindset, while learning new things bravely.
Art expands the concept of creativity and innovation by cultivating kids to be more open to constructive feedback. As children go about their daily lives with art, creativity comes forward to assist them to overcome problems and also bring excitement and new experiences in their lives.
With this in mind, Da Vinci Creative Kids develops programme that nurture young children’s creative thinking abilities at a young age.
As a leading children creative development centre in the country. Da Vinci Creative Kids offers creative art and craft programmes for children from four onwards, featuring a structure syllabus for students to fully, utilize their creativity and encourage imaginations. These programmes provide a platform for the young students to exercise their right brain and left-brain training in school academics.
The Little Da Vinci Creative Programme for children aged four and five has undergone thorough research and development with the objective of teaching young children not only to create great artworks but also to develop self-confidence and creative problem-solving skills in their daily lives.
The programme uses a series of creativity-empowering components through its Eye-Mind-Hand Integrated Development. This approach includes Flash Animation Visual Learning to improve mental capacity and art principles and Integrated “Learn & Apply” Workbooks to guide children to draw and colour using the Da Vinci method. There are also Craft Activities to enhance observation, fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination and Creative Play Time to create better physical development.
“Fun, interactive, artistic exercises that promote creativity and involve brainstorming can help children succeed in the classroom. We are also the first in Malaysia to incorporate flash animation into the teaching method,” says Tan.
Besides the Little Da Vinci programme, Da Vinci Creative Kids also offers other exciting programmes such as Junior Da Vinci Creative Kids Art (ages 5-11), Immediate Da Vinci Kid Art (ages 7-12), Advanced Da Vinci Art (Age 13-15) and more.
These programmes are designed to encourage imagination in children through drawing and art techniques.
One of the significant principles deployed by the Da Vinci programme is Holistic Personal Development. Students receive total development in terms of cognitive, physical, emotional, social and artistic aspects through the art lessons of varied broadness and depth, which include technical and knowledge-based information.
