LA Trobe University is one of Australia’s leading research universities and has a reputation for academic excellence and innovation.
Established in 1967, La Trobe now has seven campuses in Victoria, in the south-east of Australia. The University has more than 28,000 students, including 4,500 international students from over 90 countries, and 3,000 staff.

La Trobe University was the Australian Winner of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Global Investment Research Challenge. La Trobe finance students took out the Australian final of the CFA Global Investment Research Challenge among all Australian universities. The La Trobe Team is now representing Australia at the Asian Final at Bali and to go on to the Challenge Final in the United States in April.
The winning team performed well in analyzing and valuing a company, and reported their valuation and recommendation both in the form of a written stock report. A verbal presentation and defense of the argument and recommendation was presented to a panel of leading investment professionals.

La Trobe was confirmed by the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) as the leading university in Australia in Biochemistry and Cell Biology, and the only university where the Government-rated research in this specific field as above world standards.
La Trobe is now in the midst of the biggest transformation in its history with the building of the RM291mil (AUD$94mil) La Trobe Institute of Molecular Science (LIMS) and RM891mil (AUD$288mi) Agribio, the Centre for Agribiosciences at the Melbourne campus.
And there were also strong performances in physics and sports science, as well as the humanities fields including history, archaeology and language, communication and culture. Fifty-nine percent of the results in specified fields were at or above world standard.
