KBU International College recently launched a new programme, the Foundation in Health Sciences in collaboration with International Medical University (IMU). The programme is aimed to boost the number of health science professionals as the country faces a shortage of experts in medicine and science.
KBU is backed by 20 years of excellence, and positioning itself as a premier tertiary education provider. It takes pride in branching out by working closely with Malaysia’s first private medical educational institution, IMU, by building this programme.

The programme is developed with input from IMU and will be taught at KBU starting February 2011. Students who are keen to join the programme may join in February, April or July.
The one-year (three semesters) foundation programme will be based on examination and coursework and focuses on subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, English for Health Sciences, Physics and Mathematics which are essential for health science students. Students will be taught by a team of dedicated lecturers from KBU in a conductive learning environment and monitored by the standards est by IMU.
This new programme aims to give students pursuing the foundation programme an option to take up one of the 12 undergraduate programmes offered at IMU. The programmes available at IMU for these students are: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Dental Suirgery, Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons), Masters of Pharmacy (Hons) in collaboration with the University of Strathclyde, Bachelor of Science (Hons) Medical Biotechnology, Bachelor of Science (Hons) Biomedical Science, Bachelor of Science (Hons) pharmaceutical Chemistry, Bachelor of Science (Hons) Nutrition & Dietetics, Bachelor of Science (Hons) Psychology, Bachelor of Sceince (Hons) Choropractic, Bachelor of Science (Hons) Chinese Medicine and Bachelor of Nursing (Hons). These programmes that are offered in IMU have a current, vcomprehensive, and m,arket-driven curriculum that addresses the needs of healthcare.

KBU Matriculation Studies Centre also offers A-Levels and Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) programmes. Intakes for A-Levels would be in January, April and July while AUSMAT has only one intake – in January every year.
