How to be a Certified Yoga Instructor

BECOMING a certified and skilled yoga instructor means, first of all, that training has to be undertaken correctly.

The training methodology should cover the human anatomy and precision of the breathing pattern within each “asana” (posture).

Also, instructors should be trained in the whole yogic, framework to correctly understand and communicate with the inherent knowledge of yoga lessons in its full breadth and depth.

A holistic yoga instructor can only come from holistic training, and the International Yoga Instructor Course (YIC) offered by The Yoga Franchise (TYF) is probably one of the most in-depth, holistic and authentic yoga courses in Malaysia with worldwide recognition.

The IYIC provides a solid foundation for both the practice of yoga and for conducting classes as the hands-on course includes practical sessions up to 150 hours.

Taking the skills gained in the IYIC programme, a step further is the newly introduced course, entitled Teaching Yoga With Precision and Alignment (TYPA) inspired by BKS Iyengar’s book, Light on Yoga.

As its name suggests, the TYPA will enhance the teaching and practice of “hatha yoga and ultimately leads to the achievement of inner calm and confidence through focusing on the mind-body realm.

As yoga is holistic and all-embracing, there is no reason to deprive children from its wonderful benefits. However, some asanas are not advisable for children as they may interfere with their growth.

Therefore, teaching yoga to children should be handled with utmost care, and most importantly, by an instructor trained in the art of teaching yoga to youngsters. In line with this philosophy, MYS offers the Super Yoga Kids Instructor Course (SYKIC).

Yoga for kids is widely gaining popularity, and is already offered as a curriculum option in some Western countries.

The SYKIC covers a comprehensive syllabus that includes guidance on the optimum structure of a children’s class, lessons on children’s anatomy and approaches to teaching yoga to children, among other aspects.

It also offers guided and practical teaching methods.

A bonus is the inclusion of a marketing module, which provides guidance on how to prepare your own teaching material.

Many may have heard of various mind control techniques. You may have experienced some success with these techniques, and may have found that such effects had not been long lasting. It certainly does not mean that these things are out of our reach.

It just means that the changes have been initiated from an intellectual, cerebral level.

As the mind is “unchangeable” by nature, any change springing from here is likely to be short-lived, unless of course, accompanied with an iron will.

The easier way to make these changes permanent is to make them from a deeper source, at the existential level. The best way is to first understand the knowledge of “prana” (qi) or life force.

The knowledge of prana is called Prana Vidya. It allows us to influence our “bioplasmic energies” to achieve all that we a want at the physical and mental level and more.

The knowledge of prana is an ancient science handled down from teacher to student and has remained a secret for centuries.

Prana Vidya has been brought to our shores by Master Mani Sekaran under the banner of The Yoga Franchise (TYF). Master Mani is an experienced yoga practitioner with over 32 years of experience and is passionate about spreading the benefits of this wonderful technique in Malaysia.
