FINDING the right preschool for my children is very important for me,” says Amanda Sanusi, mother of Akasyah Iman, seven and Akalil Zulkamal, five, who are currently attending InsightKIDs. “InsightKIDs caters to my children’s education as well as personal development.”

Her eldest  son, Akasyah, first joined InsightKIDs Preschool in 2009. “Initially he was very shy, quiet and reserved but after a year at InsightKIDs, I noticed that he was much more confident. Even others have commented on the change in him,” she said.

InsightKIDs manager Harveen Sagoo confirms that independent research assessments conducted on InsightKIDs students report they are up to two years ahead of their chronological age with regards to communication and socialization skills.

During EQ sessions, the children learn important values such as responsibility and to manage various emotions, self-motivate and lead. The InsightKIDs Brain and Character Development Programme builds analytical skills, memory and creativity. Assessments have also shown that 66.7% of InsightKIDs students are ranked superior in terms of their analytical abilities.

“It is important to understand that children develop different skills and competencies at different stages of growth,” says Harveen. “InsightKIDs believes in collaborating with parents to identify each child’s strengths and weaknesses and to nurture them based on their uniqueness.”

When asked about the emotional development of her children, Amanda comments, “Both of them are articulate and polite. I am glad that they are practising good manners at home and outside. Even my two-year old daughter has started saying ‘please’.”

In terms of academics, Amanda comments, “I was initially worried that Akasyah may not be able to cope in primary school as he was still struggling to read and write at the age of five. However, he has caught up with his schoolwork after joining InsightKIDs. His teachers have commented that he is disciplined and well-behaved.”

On the InsightKIDs curriculum, Harveen states, “InsightKIDs Preschool prepares children for international and private schools as well as the local government schools. It utilizes a well proven British curriculum for English and Mathematics. Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin are also taught intensively.

“It is better to pique curiosity and encourage children to learn new things daily. It is with this simple but crucial child development principle that our InsightKIDs Amazing World thematic curriculum is built upon.”

As for her second son Akalil, Amanda says, “He is now more outgoing and loves homework. He used to be afraid to try new things but now he can even introduce himself to others and is much more confident. He is able to learn things very quickly. His speech and language have improved tremendously and he has even started speaking Mandarin at home.”

When asked about other programmes available at InsightKIDs, Harveen encourages parents to visit the centre at Damansara Heights or Ampang to find out more. “We incorporate that latest scientific and psychological research utilizing a combination of experiential learning and interactive activities.

“Our programmes ranges from InsightKIDs Complete Brain Development Programme to InsightKIDs Complete Brain Reading Programme and we also have a Clinical Psychology Clinic for parents who are concerned about any learning difficulties. Our teachers are trained with a background in psychology and we have a clinical psychologist on hand to provide advice.”

InsightKIDs Open Day is on April at the Medan Damansara branch and Ampang branch. For more details, call 03-20936178 or 03-42707887 or visit www.insightkids.com
