KDU College Enable Students to Study Locally but Obtain International Recognised
Known as the Island Campus, KDU College Penang has grown by leaps and bounds since its establishment in 1991.
Approaching its 20th anniversary next year, the institution is taking bold measures to step out of its Petaling Jaya counterpart’s shadow.
Among them is the introduction of new and enhanced programmes such as the Australian Matriculation (Ausmat) Programme, design and engineering course, as well as additions to the college’s existing facilities.
It is also offering attractive scholarships to students from outside urban areas and developing towns such as in Kedah, Perlis and Perak.
From next year, the institution’s Centre for Pre-University Studies will be offering the new Ausmat programme, an alternative to the South Australian Matriculation (SAM) programme.
KDU College Penang principal Dr. Chong Beng Keok expresses confidence in the programme, saying it was bound to catch the attention of school leavers as it is recognised and accepted in the whole of Australia thus providing yet another convenient route for students who are interested in furthering their studies Down Under.
“the Ausmat Programme, offered in collaboration with the Government of Western Australia Curriculum Council, will enable students to study locally but obtain an internationally recognised pre-university education,” sayd Dr. Chong.
Latest technology
For avid video-gamers, the college is now offering a Diploma in Games Technology and setting up a new “Games Pad”, the latest laboratory that will bring together art, sound and story and allow students to immerse themselves in a real design world.
