with the PIDM Undergraduate Scholarship Programme

Apart from being a statutory body that protects depositors against the lose of their deposits. Perbandaran Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM) now administers the Takaful and Insurance Benefits Protection System, providing protection to owners of takaful certificates, and insurance policies. PIDM has also been actively involved in human capital development, as it strives to deliver on its vision of being a best practice insurer.

What is PIDM’s Undergraduate Scholarship Programme?

PIDM’s Undergraduate Scholarship Programme is a scholarship award for aspiring students in need of financial aid to pursue their studies locally.

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility and our efforts in giving back to the community, we are calling all deserving Malaysians to apply as we seek to nurture future generation of strategic thinkers and leaders.

If you are eligible based on the requirements listed below, we invite you today to begin the journey towards your true potential.

What does the scholarship offer?

  • Up to RM10,000 a year in course fees or the actual cost, whichever is lower
  • Up to RM2,000 in allowances for learning aids including books, computer, stationeries, and other material per semester or up to RM4,000 per year
  • Up to a maximum of RM6,000 allowance per year or RM500 per month
  • An induction programme for all scholarship recipients will be provided
  • A ‘mentor’ will be appointed to each recipient to provide consistent and continuous mentoring and coaching throughout the programme
  • Internship opportunities in PIDM to apply what you have learned in an operational context in PIDM (minimum ‘Cumulative Grade Point Average’ (CGPA) of 3.00 or a minimum of ‘Second Class Upper’ in the final examinations)

What are the requirements?

  • You must be a Mandarin citizen under 25 years of age (as of 1 January 2011) and be a full time student
  • You must have good academic results in SPM/STPM or equivalent (will credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English)
  • You have gained admission into any of the courses related to the field of studies listed here, which has been approved and accredited by Lembaga Akreditasi Negara (LAN), in a college or university in Malaysia as approved by PIDM
  • Not be in position financially to take the course without financial or award
  • Not be in receipt of any other scholarship, financial aid or award from any institutions, or any other organizations or foundation

  • You may email hc@pidm.gov.my with your full name, address and contact number and we will email you the application form

Please send your completed application form by hand or by post with a recent passport-sized photograph, certified photocopies of your academic transcript and/or certificates and all relevant documents to reach us:
