A place where students can feel at home, have fun, grow into a more mature adult and feel a sense of belonging
WHEN school leavers enroll at SEGi, they don’t just become students. They become a part of a community. That is what each campus at SEGi strives to maintain – a place where students can feel at home, have fun, grow into a more mature adult and feel a sense of belonging. Opportunities for participation in on-campus activities abound.
Last year, on Oct 13, students at SEGi University College celebrated the beauty of their multi-national community with the International Cultural Celebration organized by the Students Affairs, Student Council and SEGi International Students Society.

The 3-in-1 event stretched through day and night, involving the participation and co-operation of about 150 local and international students. The three events were a blood donation drive, international food fair and International Cultural Night.
Nursing students worked together with the National Blood Bank to run the blood donation drive.
For the international food fair, many of the international students contributed towards the sale of dishes from Korea, Iran, Nigeria and Pakistan, while local students also sold local favourites.
The highlight of the event however was the International Cultural Night, which saw the main campus multi-purpose hall filled to the brim. Tickets to the event included a KFC meal, lucky draws and a long list of exciting performances.
SEGi student performers showcased a cultural fashion parade as well as modern and cultural dances from more than 10 countries including Kazakhstan, Yemen, Zimbabwe, Sudan and Nigeria.
In addition to this event, during Deepavali, the Indian Society at SEGi College Kuala Lumpur organized a three-day exhibition at the campus. Indian Society members came dressed in their best sarees, treated everyone to drum music, sold Indian cuisine, gave collegians henna band decoration and brightened the entrance of the campus with a beautiful kolam.
SEGi College Penang had its annual prom night on Nov 20 at Eastin Hotel which also had its own versions of Idol and Britain’s Got Talent that was aptly called SEGi’s Got Talent. The students got the chance to demonstrate a wide variety of talents and skills.
The winners of SEGi Got Talent were Venodh Hendry for his modern dance routine, Lim Shan Jing for a classical guitar performance and Lim Yih Ning for a dance medley.
In the SEGi Idol segment, the winners were Kalidasan Mrugesin, Wendy Toh and Renaldo Scully.
“We are committed in our efforts to produce well-rounded graduates that can take on any challenge with great attitude and skills. We believe that we will be able to produce first class if not world class graduates,” said Lee Kok Cheng, SEGi Education Group CEO.
SEGi Education Group has a student population of more than 23,000 with a good mix of Malaysian and international students. With over 30 years of experience in the education industry, SEGi is at the forefront of private higher education. For more information, please visit www.segi.edu.my
