Looking for a fun nature’s day out to spend quality time with your friends and family? Take in some fresh air as you are shown around Malaysia’s premier Tropical Spice Garden on a guided tour.
Tropical Spice Garden is situated in what was once an abandoned, rubber plantation along Penang’s north-western shores.
With the vision and determination of David and Rebecca Wilkinson, their talented team, and funding from Bertam Consolidated Rubber Co. Ltd. the overgrown plot has been transformed into a garden sanctuary of unique design and soul.
Feast your eyes with vibrant colour as you explore over 500 varieties of tropical flora specially selected from all over the world.
Get the most of your exploration with an experienced guide who will not only draw your eyes to interesting features, but also teach you about nature’s beauties.
Throughout the Garden are different themed Garden Rooms featuring special plant collections such as spices and herbs, aquatic plants, bamboos, crotons, cycads, ferns, gingers, heliconias, jungle plants, orchids and rare palms, with educational signage displaying the names and uses for each plant.
Many of the rubber trees from the plantation were left undisturbed, to give you and your group the shade and shelter from the sun’s beating rays.
Tropical Spice Garden is more than just a garden, it is run by a team of environmentally and socially-aware individuals trying to make a difference. They are invested in building the local community around them, recycling, and use only organic fertilizers.
Tropical Spice Garden has now become one of Malaysia’s premier eco-tourism destinations with a number of prestigious awards. This relaxing adventure through their enchanting paradise is definitely one that you wouldn’t to miss out on.
