Tanah Sutera Development Sdn Bhd once again is taking the lead in integrating green initiatives as a way of life with the launch of The SEED at Taman Sutera Utama.

The SEED aims to bring back the good old Kampung spirit but in modern hi-tech setting.

It is about seeing the big picture, taking responsibility for oneself and the family, community as well as the country. The SEED is about creating sustainable future for generations to come.

It begins with planting the right seed, one at a time which means planting the right values and inculcating right habits. Planting the seed of life as is it most precious, planting the seed of humility, which is the symbol of growth, planting the seed of giving and generosity which leads to gratitude toward each other, and thus, creating unity, supporting our prime minister’s call for 1Malaysia. With the seed of unity there is harmony, joy and happiness. Finally, the seed of virtue, living a life of morality and ethics.

Tanah Sutera Development general manager Steven Shum says that green living begins from the way people treat kitchen waste.

“We need to develop the habit of separating rubbish,” says Shum.

Food waste such as fruit peels can be turned into enzymes which can be used as fertilizers and cleaning agents, for example.

At The SEED, each block comes with separate rubbish bins for glass, plastic and paper. All waste will be collected at regular intervals and transported to recycling centres which can generate income for funding community projects. This will also lessen maintenance charges for residents.

Interlocking concrete pavers are used to trap ground water for reuse, for watering plant and for cleaning. Besides rainwater harvesting, solar panels are also integrated at the clubhouse, thus saving on electricity.

“We know this is not going to be easy, but we have to start somewhere,” stresses Shum.

“We need to develop the 5R Mindset to Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and be Responsible. We have to set the exponential function in motion anticipate that this force of goodwill increases day by day.”

The SEED is a low-rise, low-density development project comprising of three, six and nine-storey “Boutique Suites” ranging from 1240sq ft. The units are priced from RM398000 upwards.

The three-storey Boutique Suite unit is targeted at small families and young couples with the possibility of three generations living together.

The six-storey and nine-storey units come with penthouses for more space and greater privacy. Both types offer better views of the clubhouse and beyond.

For a limited period, buyers need not pay legal fees and stamp duty. They will also be offered free kitchen cabinets, cooker hood and wardrobe system plus three air conditioner units.

At the SEED, educational facilities are an important component of the development.

The SEED is also an important education hub and home to osme of the best schools in Johor Baru, namely:

-          Seri Omega Private Primary and Secondary School

-          Kuo Kuang Primary School (2)

There is also a Calvary Victory Centre and Kiwanis Careheart centre.

The residences are only five minutes drive to the commercial hub. Here you will find the Sutera Mall with Carrefour and food and beverage outlets like Pekin Restaurant as well as shop-offices, retail outlets and a host of entertainment facilities.

Residents will also enjoy the convenience of a hair salon, childcare centre, launderette and polyclinic. Other amenities include an Olympic-size swimming pool, gumnasium, Jacuzzi, children’s wading pool, badminton court, barbecue pit, multi-purpose hall and two carparks for every unit purchased.
