The formation of acne takes place when dead skin cells and excess sebum clog the pores. The proliferation of Propionibacterium Acnes or P. acnes, the bacterium linked to acne, causes an infection resulting in inflammation of the skin.
Benzac AC is a topical water-based gel wiyh its active ingredient benzoyl peroxide perfect for the treatment of acne. It is available in benzoyl peroxide strengths of 2.5, 5 and 10 per cent to suit the condition and sensitivity of your skin.
HOW CAN BENZAC AC GEL WORK FOR YOU?
Benzac AC helps to remove blackheads by speeding up the peeling off of dead skin cells, killing the P. acnes and reducing inflammation. One can see a reduction in P. acnes after just a few days. There will also be a reduction in bacterial colonization of the oil duct.
Benzac AC is suitable to be used by sufferers with mild to moderate acne. It should be applied once or twice daily to the affected area. Use lower strengths for those who either fair or sensitive skinned. Higher concentrations can be used on chest, shoulders and back.
HARD ON ACNE, SOFT ON SKIN
Benzac AC contains a moisturizing system called Acrylates Copolymer Glycerin Complex, that absorbs excess sebum from the skin and releases glycerin to hydrate the skin. It does not leave the skin feeling dry and tight.
Among the other characteristics that set Benzac AC aparts from its acne-treatment counterparts is that it does not contain alcohol and it is fragrance free. Benzac AC is also a water-based, and is compatible with water-based make-up. Moreover, it has been used effectively when combined with other prescribed topical acne preparations.
Benzac AC is formulated for long term usage as long as acne is active, without any decrease in the efficacy of the product. This is possible as it is not an antibiotic preparation thus the acne bacteria are not able to build a resistance to the product.
Although Benzac AC is less irritating than regular benzoyl peroxide preparations, and is perfect for everyday use, those with with known allergy to its min ingredient should not use it. Also, while using Benzac AC, one should stay away from facial scrubs, which can be too abrasive as the skin is already undergoing active peeling.
